WHAT WE DO
READING PROGRAMME
Since 2019, 20 unemployed youth have received training to become certified Phonographix tutors every year. Each tutor is responsible for helping 40 children improve their English reading and writing skills. Currently, the tutors work in two schools in Alex, and one school in Lebowakgomo. About 800 children improve their reading skills each year. Many Stretch Alumni generate a much-needed income by offering private lessons to children in their communities.
YOGA PROGRAMME
Stretch Education SA offers yoga and other alternative wellness activities to the learners living in the Alexandra Town-Ship of Johannesburg, We support and equip the primary school learners with tools to cope with stress and anxiety, thereby enabling them to be more focused in both their studies and daily life.

Our programs, mentoring, and support services help Alex's youth to break out of the poverty cycle.
HOLIDAY PROGRAMME
During school holidays, Stretch Education offers a holiday program for learners in Alexandra. This engaging five-day program is designed to be both fun and inspiring, facilitated by our experienced cohort.
LEANERSHIP PROGRAMME
We provide an opportunity for the youth of Alexandra Township to acquire essential skills that enhance their career prospects, foster work ethic, including proficiency in computer programming, speed typing, effective communication, tutoring certification, and the opportunity to become certified yoga instructors.
YOGA4MANDELA
67 minutes of yoga in honor of Mandela in the month of July.

The event is celebrated annually and fun activities are incorporated to the event, music performance and refreshments are served.
